Congratulations!

Take a moment to be proud of yourself. You’ve worked extremely hard throughout your high school career and it has paid off. Now, you’re ready to tackle your next adventure and TVP is here to join you.

The Valedictorian Project is a mentorship program designed and customized for high-achieving students graduating from urban public schools.

We’ll work with you to understand your goals for life after high school and provide you with the mentorship, coaching, and support you need to make big things happen in college or your career.

Your Goals + Great Mentors = Success

Whether you’re heading to college, starting your career, or taking some time to figure out your next move, you’ll be adjusting to a whole new world. It will be exciting and full of new opportunities and challenges alike.

If there’s one thing we know for sure: having really great mentors and a strong network will make a big difference in ensuring you can take advantage of every opportunity that comes your way.

That’s where we come in. We’re TVP, and we’re ready to partner with you on making your next step as bold and bright as you are.

Interested?

Hear directly from a current TVP mentee, Ruth, who currently attends MIT, and has been working with her TVP mentors during each step of her college journey.

How Do I Get Started?

Am I Eligible to join?

You should have received sign-up information from your school or directly from Team TVP if you are invited to join.

Once we’ve received your info form, our team will reach out to get to know more about you, preview your mentors with you, and match you with two mentors: a Peer Mentor and a Senior Mentor. We’ll also make sure all your questions are answered and that you know what to expect from us and your mentors.

Why should I do it?

Your mentors are committed to partnering with you to navigate new challenges both big and small. Need help choosing a college major? Looking for advice so you can nail that job interview? Looking for insights on time management on how to juggle work, school, and social life? Your mentors can help you with all of that and more.

In addition to building one on one relationships with your mentors, TVP will also have workshops available to you throughout the year if you need expert advice on topics like financial literacy, finding mental health services on campus, creating an awesome resume, and more.

How does it work?

Once we learn more about you and your goals for next year, we’ll match you with your two mentors, and you’ll work together with them to find a time to connect, chat, and get to know each other.

Your meetings with your mentors can be over the phone, via email, or in person. It’s up to you and your mentors to decide what and when works best for you. All we ask is that you’re checking in with each other regularly and discussing how post-high school life, job, school (or whatever else you’re up to) is going.

TVP will check in with you every few months to see how everything’s going and help ensure your mentorship matches are the right ones for you. They’ll be sticking by your side for a while, so we want to make sure they’re a perfect fit.
