Mentorship.

Every TVP scholar is matched with two mentors - a peer mentor who's been there recently, and a senior mentor with career experience to share. Together, they provide the consistent, trusted guidance that helps scholars navigate college and build toward careers they're excited about.

More than mentorship.

Mentorship is the foundation, but TVP scholars also receive direct financial support through the Futures Fund, one-on-one coaching across academics, career, and personal wellbeing, and access to summer fellowships that open doors to internships and careers. It's a full support system, built for the long haul.

Governor Maura Healey on Why Mentorship Matters

At our 2025 End-of-Year Celebration, Governor Maura Healey shared personal reflections on the power of access, support, and showing up for students. In a moving address, she highlighted the role The Valedictorian Project plays in ensuring that first-generation college students aren't navigating their journeys alone. Watch her message about what it means to build a more equitable path to college and career success.

TVP exists because driven, high-achieving students deserve a community that shows up for them — through college, into careers, and beyond
